1/2 day trip we visit: Elk house, two paintings by Konstvägen Seven Rivers, Slöjdarnas house
Elk's house is located about 60 km from Umeå, beautifully located a bit west of Bjurholm. There, Christer Johansson, the former star of the ski team, along with his wife Ulla created a moose farm, the first in Europe to tame moose. It all began on a small scale in 1996 when the couple bought the first calves from Kolmården and Junsele zoo. Since then, Moose Farm grown into a premier tourist attraction where you can see the slide show, clapping and perhaps sit on a moose, mingle with the small calves, taste the elk cheese or other moose products in the restaurant.
